2 Turkish humanitarian aid planes still blocked in Ukraine…


(MENAFN) According to the Turkish Minister of Defense, two Turkish A400M planes which landed in Ukraine the day the conflict began to offer humanitarian aid and return the Turks are still waiting at the airport.

Hulusi Akar informed reporters in Istanbul “There are currently two planes waiting at Boryspil airport due to airspace closure after our arrival. We are continuing our contacts with Russia and Ukraine on this issue.”

Akar added, “Our crew are currently staying at our embassy. We will evacuate our planes at the first opportunity. We will also evacuate our citizens to Turkey, if possible,” mentioning that hard work is underway to bring the planes back to Turkey in safely and ring.

He also said Turkey supports “peace and dialogue”, during talks with Russian and Ukrainian defense ministers.
