AFP receives cash aid of 3.95 million pesos, bicycles and vaccines from MVP group – Manila Bulletin


The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) received financial aid worth 3.95 million pesos, ambulance bicycles, Covid-19 vaccines and other equipment from the MVP group of companies during a a ceremony held at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City on Monday April. 4.

General Andres Centino, AFP chief of staff, thanked donors for their continued aid to the army, which benefits its personnel.

“The Armed Forces of the Philippines are very fortunate to have private sector partners who appreciate the work of our organization and who have continuously supported us and organized programs under their corporate social responsibility branch to extend their expertise and resources. to our soldiers,” Centino said.

The AFP chief said the financial aid they received will be donated to the dependents of the victims of the Lockheed C-130 “Hercules” plane crash in Patikul, Sulu on July 4, 2021 which has killed 50 soldiers and injured 53 others.

MVP Group has also donated a total of 30 ambulance bicycles to the Philippine Army, Philippine Navy and Philippine Air Force from AFP under the “Hospital-In-A -Bike” from the Makati Medical Center Foundation (MMCF) which aims to save lives. or prevent further injury by providing emergency medical care and response in remote areas of the country.

Additionally, the military also received 12,578 doses of Moderna and Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines; and five computer units that will be used by the AFP Dental Service for its Dental Records Information Management System or DRIMS project.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the Secretary of the Ministry of National Defense (DND), Delfin Lorenzana; Al Panlilio, President and CEO of Smart Philippines; and key figures from MMCF, PLDT, Smart, PayMaya, Meralco, Maynilad and the Metro Pacific Investment Corporation.

Also present were Ambassador Ilan Simon Fluss and Mr. Nir Balzan from the Israeli Embassy in Manila. At the height of the pandemic, the Israeli Embassy sponsored bikes for MVP Group’s Hospital-in-a-Bike project for Naval Reserve Command beneficiaries.
