British MPs discuss aid to Azerbaijan for mine clearance in liberated areas

British MP Lord David Evans addressed the country’s government on the issue of supporting Azerbaijan in its efforts to clear landmines in its territories freed from Armenian occupation. According to Goldsmith, in June 2021, the UK Ministry of Defense sent a counter-explosives expert to Azerbaijan to understand how the UK can support the country on the issue of mine clearance.

In addition, according to Goldsmith, Minister for Europe and the Americas Wendy Morton announced in September that the UK had contributed £ 500,000 to a United Nations Development Program initiative to take action to eliminate the problem of mines existing in the region.
