China donates 125 million RMB for humanitarian aid to Pakistan



Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) donated emergency and rehabilitation aid worth RMB 125 million to flood victims in Pakistan at a ceremony special held on Friday in Beijing.

Sharing his grief and condolences with the bereaved families, CPAFFC Chairman Lin Songtian said that following the devastating floods, the Chinese government and people have made substantial contributions to Pakistan’s relief and rehabilitation efforts.

He said the Chinese aid demonstrates its unique friendship with Pakistan and the close ties between the peoples of the two countries.

President Lin stressed that in addition to ongoing aid, China will also play its part in flood rehabilitation and infrastructure development in affected areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Moinul Haque, hailed the timely assistance of CPAFFC and Chinese local governments and companies to bolster Pakistan’s ongoing relief efforts for flood victims.

Recalling that the two countries have always stood together in difficult times, he said today’s ceremony was another demonstration of China’s solidarity and sympathy with the people of Pakistan.

Ambassador Moin also called on the Chinese government to play a proactive role in Pakistan’s economic recovery in the post-flood phase and reiterated Pakistan’s strong will to deepen cooperation with China in areas of green development, climate resilience and disaster management.

Ambassador Sha Zukang, Chairman of China-Pakistan Friendship Association and Li Xikui, Chairman of China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development (CFFPD) attended the ceremony.

The event also brought together the leaders of leading businesses and charities, media representatives and senior Pakistani embassy officials.

Senior government officials from many provinces and cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Tianjin, Hubei, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang and others, also sent special messages of support and sympathy to Pakistan.
