CM Naveen Patnaik interacts with ASEAN Chiefs of Mission in India


The Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Odisha have been encouraged to expand their economic and cultural relations by the state’s chief minister, Naveen Patnaik. “Odisha has the advantage of location and has been endowed with natural resources and important ports on the Bay of Bengal,” the chief minister remarked during an interaction with ASEAN heads of mission during preparation for Make in Odisha-2022 from November. She said there are many opportunities for trade and cultural ties with Odisha given the historic trade and cultural ties that have existed between Odisha and ASEAN countries for over 2,500 years. She praised the scenic surroundings of several Odisha destinations. She said they strongly believe in the economic potential of Odisha and will promote it in their respective countries. She said there are a ton of trading opportunities in the hospitality, service, food processing and medical tourism sectors.

Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik today met with a team of senior ASEAN Heads of Mission in India to wrap up their three-day tour. The mission was led by Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador to the Royal Thai Embassy in India. A delegation visited Odisha on October 26, 2022.
