Amid fears of a possible Russian invasion, families of Indian embassy officials in Ukraine have been urged to return to India, a source said. It is also to be noted here that the Embassy will remain operational and the order is for staff family members only.
Earlier today, India issued a notice and asked its nationals to temporarily leave the Eastern European nation if their stay is not essential. This came amid growing tensions between NATO countries and Russia over the issue of Ukraine.
Taking to Twitter, the Indian Embassy in Ukraine said: “Given the continuing high levels of tension and uncertainty regarding the situation in Ukraine, all Indian nationals whose stay is not deemed essential and to all Indian students to leave Ukraine temporarily”.

The embassy also said available commercial flights and charter flights could be used for travel, for an “orderly and speedy departure” from crisis-ridden Ukraine.
“Indian students are advised to also contact the respective contracting students for updates on charter flights, and continue to follow the Embassy on Facebook, website and Twitter for any updates,” a- he declared.
According to a 2020 official document, Ukraine had a small but vibrant Indian community and there were around 18,000 Indian students studying in this country.
The United States and its Western allies have harshly criticized Russia for its buildup of forces near the Ukrainian border. The United States has already sent additional troops to Europe to support its allies amid fears of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Russia has positioned around 100,000 troops near its border with Ukraine in addition to sending warships to the Black Sea for naval exercises, raising concerns among NATO nations over a possible Russian invasion. from Ukraine.
