Addis Ababa, December 21, 2021 (Walta) – The Israeli Embassy in Ethiopia has provided material assistance of approximately 147,000 kilograms to those displaced and victims of the invasion of TPLF terrorists in Amhara and Afar regions.

Israel’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Alelign Admasu presented the donation to Minister of Women and Social Affairs Ergogie Tesfaye.

At the donation ceremony, Minister of Women and Social Affairs Ergogie Tesfaye congratulated the people and government of Israel for supporting the Ethiopian people in need.

The donation will notably help rehabilitate people displaced and victims of Amhara and Afar regions due to the invasion of a terrorist group, she added.

The 147,000 kilograms of material support include clothing, wheelchairs, hygiene supplies, she said.

Affirming that Ethiopia and Israel have a long-standing relationship and people-to-people ties, Ergogie said the ministry will continue to work with the Israeli Embassy in Ethiopia on the rehabilitation of the displaced as well as on the issues. young people, children and women.

Israel’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Alelign Admasu, for his part said the donation was aimed at showing solidarity with the Ethiopians and further strengthening the interpersonal relationship between the two countries.

Ethiopia and Israel have long-standing social, trade and diplomatic relations, he said, adding that he will strive to maintain and strengthen these long-standing relations in various socio-economic sectors.

He stressed that the people and government of Israel will continue to support the efforts to rehabilitate the displaced people and the victims in the country.
